Hey, Hi, Hello friends, I am Kristyn Smith, better known as Kris to my friends and family, and the 25 year old, CEO behind KS Photo!
Born and Raised in Bakersfield, CA, I was #5 of 6 kids who traveled nation wide showing livestock at the most competitive level. After graduating from OSU, I moved back home to be surrounded by family and the beach!
I began photographing love stories in 2018 and haven't looked back ever since, I'm 100% convinced I have the greatest job in the world.
As much as I enjoy photographing all things loving and romantic, I am the complete opposite when it comes to movies. My parents tell me all the time I watch more action movies and powerhouse tv shows than my brothers ever have. The Fast and Furious series, will forever be a staple in my mind, and Olivia Pope is my career super hero, I strive to achieve that same successful spirit she has, (and her shoe closet obviously).
I am an auntie to 13 perfect nieces and nephews, a dog mom to the cutest pookie, Miley, and I spend all of my free time spoiling all of them (Miley included)!
As much as I love being surrounded by family and catching up on the latest action movie, helping clients create a time capsule of life’s special moments through elegant photography is my biggest passion in life!

When I was a senior in high school taking my senior portraits, the one thing that I always remembered was my experience with the photographer. Growing up, I was never a confident teenager, and being in front of the camera was my biggest fear. My photographer made me feel not only comfortable but like I was the most beautiful and powerful person in the world. I left that session, no longer the nervous 18 year old girl, but feeling like I was on top of the world and more confident than ever.
When I started my company back in 2018, that story was at the forefront of my mind, and has stuck with me to this day, and is the foundation of my philosophy as a photographer.
My greatest hope for my clients is that they come into their session feeling like they are walking the runway at New York Fashion Week, and leave remembering they are a confident, powerful, beautiful person, inside and out.
That is the reason, I have always said, its more than pictures, it's an experience.
